GAME NOTES: Wildcats face Lumberjacks Saturday

Coming off of a Big Sky Conference opener win against Northern Colorado, Weber State women's basketball will matchup against the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks this Saturday at the Dee Events Center.
This will be the 95th all-time meeting between the Wildcats and the Lumberjacks. The series is tied between Weber State and Northern Arizona 47-47. Weber State leads the series in Ogden 26-17. In the last game between the two, the Lumberjacks won 73-41.
Northern Arizona is 10-4, 1-0 following a 79-71 Big Sky opener win over the Idaho State Bengals. Sophie Glancey leads the Lumberjacks averaging 17.4 points per game and is ranked first in the Big Sky in scoring. Glancey also leads the Lumberjacks in rebounds and blocks. Glancey has been named Big Sky Player of the Week two times this season along with junior Taylor Feldman. Glancey was named Preseason All-Conference MVP and senior Leia Beattie was named to the Preseason All-Conference Team. Northern Arizona was picked first in the Big Sky Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Weber State is under the direction of second year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.
Wildcats Kendra Parra, Kennedy Eskelson, Margarita Satini, Taylor Smith, and Amanda Edwards all return to the Weber State team this season. Weber State picked up transfers Rose Bubakar from BYU, Antoniette Emma-Nnopu from UNC Greensboro, Lanae Billy from Fort Lewis College, and Japrix Stubbs from USU Eastern. The team also welcomed five newcomers, Maya Davis, Fui Niumeitolu, Mata Peaua, Dakota Nap, and Vanna Quintana.
Following Saturday's game, the Wildcats face Idaho State at home on January 11.
