KAYSVILLE, Utah – After leading the Wildcats to a seventh place finish at the SIUe Dolenc Invitational, Weber State's Matthew Wilson has earned Big Sky Co-Men's Golfer of the Week honors as the league released its weekly winners.

Wilson carded a 14-under par total of 199 to finish tied atop the individual leaderboard with Idaho's Samuel Johnson, earning a share of the medalist title. Wilson opened his tournament on Monday morning with seven birdies against a lone bogey for a 6-under par 65 to jump to the top of the leaderboard. He then added six more birdies in a 3-under par 68 on Monday afternoon to remain in the top two heading into the final day. On Tuesday, Wilson again carded seven birdies en route to a 5-under par 66, giving him a tournament total of 20 birdies.

Johnson posted his 14-under par 199 on rounds of 66, 68 and 65, posting 17 birdies and an eagle over the 54 holes.

Wilson's award is his first career Big Sky Golfer of the Week award. He twice earned Golfer of the Week award last season while the Wildcats competed in the Summit League.
