9 Wildcats take home All-Conference honors

Ogden, UT - Following an 11-6-1 season, Weber State soccer had 9 players earn Big Sky All-Conference recognition. The league announced the all-conference teams on Tuesday, which were selected by the head coaches around the conference.
The Wildcats had 3 players earn first-team honors, and four players received honorable mention. Additionally, junior Presley Ray was named Newcomer of the Year, and Lauren Butorac was named Freshman of the Year.
Ray, the transfer from Utah State, led the conference in game-winning goals in her first season as a Wildcat with 4. She ranked second on the team in goals with 5 during her junior campaign and registered 1,034 minutes on the pitch for the Wildcats.
Butorac ranked second in the conference in goals against average (.998) during her freshman campaign and recorded 5 shutouts on the season. The freshman from Portland, Oregon, took over in goal for the Wildcats early in the season, playing in 16 games and logging 1,354 minutes in goal.
Senior Grace Kirby earned all-conference honors for the second time in her career. Her 7 goals were third in the conference, and her 19 points were fourth as she started in 17 games for the Wildcats. Kirby also recorded 3 game-winning goals on the season against CSU Bakersfield, Sacramento State, and Idaho State.Â
Junior Lily Blum was also named 1st team all-conference for her play this season. It is the first time she has been named a member of the all-conference team in her career. Blum scored 4 goals on the season, including a brace in the 2-1 win over Eastern Washington in the Big Sky opener. She logged 1,291 minutes for the Wildcats this season.Â
The last Wildcat named 1st team all-conference was Isabella Sackett. The sophomore from Farmington, Utah, anchored the Wildcat defensive line all season, registering 1,341 minutes played this season. It is the first all-conference selection of Sackett's career.
The Wildcats had 4 members of the team named All-Big Sky Honorable Mention. Oakley Anderson, Tenzi Knowles, Brynlee Meyerhoffer and Sayler Schlosser.Â
Anderson, a sophomore transfer from Boise State, started every game for the Wildcats this season leading the team in minutes played with 1,464. Anderson anchored the Wildcats defensive line and recorded 2 assists on the season in the wins against UC Santa Barbara and Northern Colorado.
Knowles, a transfer from Utah State, also played in every game for the Wildcats and recorded 8 points in her first season in purple and white. Knowles played 1,250 minutes for the 'Cats this season.
Schlosser was named to the Big Sky All-Conference team for the first time in her career as she was also named All-Big Sky Honorable Mention. Schlosser scored 5 goals and registered 13 total points in her senior season.
Finally, Brynlee Meyerhoffer was named to the All-Big Sky team for the second time in her career. Meyerhoffer anchored the midfield for the Wildcats scoring 4 goals and totaling 10 points in her senior season.
The Wildcats will head into the Big Sky Tournament in Missoula, Montana as the #2 seeded team. They will take on the winner of Northern Arizona and Eastern Washington on Friday at 11:00 a.m.
