Wildcats fall to Penguins

Las Vegas, Nevada — The Youngstown State Penguins defeated the Weber State Wildcats 6-1 on Saturday, Day 2 of the UNLV Quad Tournament.
The Wildcats got off to a hot start winning the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead on the match. The 'Cats took the matches on Courts #2 and #3 in the tiebreaker to take the point. The combinations of Alicia Morales/Sydney Schnell and Cindy Li/Savannah Johnson provided the victories heading into singles play.
In singles, the Wildcats were swept in all six matches leading to the 6-1 final result. Aleks Bozinovska and Jessica Hill both pushed their matches to the third set before ultimately falling short. Hill dropped the third set in her match by a score of 10-5.
The team closes out the UNLV Quad Tournament against Oral Roberts University on Sunday, Feb. 2nd. Oral Roberts comes into the match looking for their first victory of the year.
