GAME NOTES: Weber State up against Montana at home Saturday

Weber State women's basketball will matchup against the Montana Griz on Saturday at the Dee Events Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
 
This will be the 95th all-time meeting between the Wildcats and Griz with the series beginning in 1977. The series is led by Montana 79-15 with the Griz leading 34-10 in Ogden. In the last game this season between the two, Montana secured a 74-70 win over the Wildcats.
 
The Griz are 10-14, 6-7 this season, led by Mack Konig who averages 10.3 points per game. Konig also leads the team in free throws and assists. Dani Bartsch leads the Griz in rebounds and blocks. Montana was picked third in the Big Sky Preseason Coaches' Poll.
 
The Wildcats are coming off a 63-45 loss to the undefeated in Big Sky play, Montana State Bobcats. Wildcat Taylor Smith led the team with nine points and six rebounds.
 
Weber State is under the direction of second year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.
 
Three Wildcats are nationally ranked in the top 100:
Taylor Smith is ranked No. 32 in free throw percentage.
Kendra Parra is ranked No. 9 in free throw percentage and No. 95 in free throws.
Antoniette Emma-Nnopu is ranked No. 39 in double-doubles, No. 70 in rebounds and No. 44 in rebounds per game.
 
Wildcats Kendra Parra, Kennedy Eskelson, Margarita Satini, Taylor Smith, and Amanda Edwards all returned to the Weber State team this season. Weber State picked up transfers Rose Bubakar from BYU, Antoniette Emma-Nnopu from UNC Greensboro, Lanae Billy from Fort Lewis College, Japrix Stubbs from USU Eastern, and Arizana Peaua from Westminster. The team also welcomed five newcomers, Maya Davis, Fui Niumeitolu, Mata Peaua, Dakota Nap, and Vanna Quintana.
 
Following Saturday's game, the Wildcats are on the road Feb. 20 against Sacramento State.
