'Cats finish strong weekend split between Boston and Pocatello

The 'Cats wrapped up another weekend of competition with the team competing in both Boston and Pocatello from Feb. 14-15.Â
"We had some awesome performances this weekend, as well as some challenging performances.That's part of the sport though," head coach Corbin Talley said. "We've had a rough couple of weeks with illness throughout our team, but I'm impressed with the way the guys stayed positive and did their best to take care of themselves and get healthy. I am also really impressed with the work our staff is doing in developing our athletes."Â

Bryce Anderson finished the mile with a time of 4:01.65 and moved into fifth on the all-time list and Kelton Gagnon finished with a time of 4:18.20.Â
Rodee Brow recorded a seventh place finish in the 400 meter dash with a mark of 48.21 and Alex Wheeler finished 14th at 48.65.
Wheeler recorded a tenth place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.70 and Brow finished 13th at 21.72.Â

Noah Kjar recorded a fifth place finish in the 60 meter dash prelims with a time of 6.90 and is now tied for tenth on the all-time list. Tristan Spalding finished with a mark of 7.11 and Malik Johnson finished at 7.55.
Bryson Ottley finished first in both the 800 meter prelims and finals, their best finish came in the finals at 1:52.87.Henry Prusse finished seventh at 1:55.45 and Hanokh Gailson finished eighth at 1:55.54.Â
"Bryson Ottley continues to show toughness and finish really well in the 800m," Talley said.Â
Kale Thomas recorded a first place finish in the high jump with a mark of 6-08.00 and Ryan Talbot finished eighth at 6-02.00.Â
"Kale Thomas did an outstanding job," Talley said.Â
Ryan Johnson recorded a PR in the weight throw with a mark of 53-11.75.Â
Cody Gehrett finished second in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.24, Malik Johnson finished fourth at 8.44 and Talbot finished eighth at 8.76.Â
Malik Johnson finished fourth in the 60 meter finals at 8.43, Gehrett finished fifth at 8.48 and Talbot finished sixth at 8.71.Â
Spalding finished the 200 meter with an eighth place finish at 22.35 and Kjar finished tenth at 22.43. Kjar advanced to the finals and finished second at 22.42.Â
Parker Sagers finished the pole vault in eighth at 14-09.00, Talbot finished tenth at 14-09.00 and Gehrett finished 12th at 13-09.25.Â
Will Luoma led the squad with a tenth place finish in the mile with a time of 4:18.87, Jess Christiansen finished 4:23.63, Ty Davis finished at 4:29.43 and Taylor Knight recorded a time of 4:37.60.Â
Alex Harbertson finished the 3000 meter at 8:36.03 with a PR, Evan Harris also finished with a PR at 8:36.63 and Wesley Kallgren finished at 8:37.05.Â
Tyler Spencer finished 11th at 15:13.00 and Davis finished at 15:26.69.Â
Gehrett finished 15th in the long jump with a mark of 20-07.75 and Talbot finished at 19-05.25.Â
Talbot finished the shot put at 34-04.25 and Gehrett finished with a mark of 20-10.75.Â

"Despite the adversity of the last few weeks, we had quite a few performances that helped us get ready for the Big Sky Championships in two weeks," Talley said.Â
The 'Cats will head to Flagstaff, Arizona for the Big Sky Championships Feb. 27- March 1.
