Hornets top Wildcats in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Wildcats fell 56-45 this Thursday night to the Hornets. The loss drops the 'Cats 7-7 in Big Sky play.
First Half | It was a low scoring first quarter for both teams however, Weber State led with the 9-7 advantage. Despite a Sacramento State early 6-0 run, the Wildcats Kendra Parra snapped that with a 3-pointer. With under five minutes to go, two good layups by Taylor Smith and Rose Bubakar helped increase the 'Cats lead.
Sacramento State took the lead following four straight points with just over five minutes left in the second quarter. Weber State battled but could not overcome the deficit of four points headed into the half.
Second Half | The Hornets extended their lead by eight points in the third quarter. Weber State tacked on nine points throughout the 10 minutes to head into the final frame down 36-28.
The Wildcats made a few short runs in the final ten minutes however, it was not enough to regain the advantage and the Hornets secured the home court win 56-45.
