Men’s Tennis takes down Hornets 6-1

Ogden, UT — The Weber State Men's Tennis team defeated the Sacramento State Hornets 6-1 to move to 3-0 on the season in Big Sky Conference play.
"Sacramento played well and we had to come back from some lost first sets to win," head coach Brad Ferreira said, "Ken Minh played a very solid match."
The Wildcats swept doubles taking the victories in the number two and three positions. Jordan Coutinho and Liam Day deposited their opponent 6-3 and Tristan Sarap and William Zulch took home a gritty 7-5 victory to give the 'Cats a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
In singles, William Zulch and Liam Day battled back from lost first sets to take their matches in three sets. Day took his match in position five by scores of 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 while Zulch won his match 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Connor Kruger provided the clinching point on Court #2 winning his match 7-6 (8-6), 6-4.
The win moves the Wildcats to a 3-0 record in conference play. Next up is the Air Force Falcons on Sunday, March 2nd at the Ogden Athletic Club. The Falcons come into Sunday with a record of 6-5 and winners of their last two in a row.
