Men’s Tennis defeats Air Force for fourth consecutive win

Ogden, UT — The Weber State Men's Tennis team defeated the Air Force Falcons 4-0. The Wildcats are now winners of four in a row and six of their last seven.
"Played some very good doubles again to go 1-0 up," head coach Brad Ferreira said, "We were on the winning side of four first-set tiebreakers. Ken and Connor finished early putting us up 3-0 leaving it up to Liam to finish the match for us. Great win."
The 'Cats took an early lead in doubles play and never looked back. The duo of Connor Kruger and Ken Minh won in position #1 by a score of 6-3. Jordan Coutinho and Liam Day took their match in the #2 slot 6-4 to give the Wildcats a 1-0 advantage over the Falcons heading into singles play.
The momentum carried on the singles play where Ken Minh quickly took his match 6-4, 6-1 to take a 2-0 lead in the match. Connor Kruger and Liam Day each won a first-set tiebreaker and won the second sets to give the team the win 4-0 on the day. Tristan Sarap, Jordan Coutinho and Theo Mottier each went to the third set in their matches and each went unfinished due to the teams playing to clinch.
The win moves the Wildcats to 6-4 overall on the season. This is the fourth consecutive win for the 'Cats and their sixth win in their last seven matches. The team will now head out to the West Coast for a California road trip that begins with a matchup against Temple on Thursday, March 6th. Temple comes into the matchup with a record of 4-5. The Wildcats will look to extend the winning streak to five against the Owls.
