Wildcats fall to Lobos to close out weekend

Albuquerque, NM — The Weber State women's tennis team closed their weekend road trip through the desert with a 7-0 loss to the University of New Mexico on Sunday, February 9th.
The 'Cats and Lobos split the opening matches of doubles play 1-1 setting up a decisive game on Court #2 with the winners taking home the doubles point for their side. The game went to tiebreaking sets where the combination of Alicia Morales and Sydney Schnell fell by a score of 7-6 (7-5). Savannah Johnson and Cindy Li picked up a win in their matchup 6-3.
Riding the momentum from singles play, the Lobos were able to sweep the Wildcats in straight sets in singles play. This led to the 7-0 final result.
The Wildcats will finally head back home to Ogden after spending the last two weekends on the road. They will take on the Santa Clara Broncos at the Ogden Athletic Club on Sunday, February 16th at 10:00 a.m. The Broncos come into the matchup on Sunday sporting a 4-1 record and will be playing two straight matches in northern Utah as they take on Utah State in Logan, Utah on Saturday the 15th.
