'Cats finish strong in first weekend of outdoor season

The Wildcats kicked off the 2025 outdoor season with a dominating team performance at the UVU Collegiate Invitational on March 28 in Orem, Utah.Â
"We had good performances, our relays were seconds off of our all-time performances," head coach Paul Pilkington said. "It was a good opener for our sprinters and distance runners."
Bailey Tovey recorded a fifth place finish in the javelin with a mark of 136-7.25 and is now tenth on the all-time top ten list and Miley Richards finished in seventh at 129-0.75.
Jasmine Devers recorded a first place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.60.Â
Angelyca Chapman ran unattached and recorded a first place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.04.Â
Jasmine Devers, Makayla Oliver, Eliza Smith and Payge Walz recorded a first place finish in the 4x100 relay with a time of 46.48.Â
Oliver, Charlotte Wilkinson, Devers and Smith recorded a second place finish in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:58.99. Bailey, Emily Gwilliam. Sandra Aberg and Maggie Featherstone finished sixth with a time of 4:06.38.
Wilkinson finished second in the 800 meter run at 2:13.96.
Payge Walz recorded a second place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.11, Eliza Smith finished in fifth at 14.46 and Gwilliam finished at 15.51.Â
Audrey Camp Cazier finished third in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:58.26 and is now sixth on the top 10 all-time list, Hannah Bailey finished fourth at 11:18.70 and Brooklyn Dayley finished in ninth at 12:11.24.Â
Both Aimee Chambers-Lenthe and Stacia Barker recorded a mark of 5-3.0 in the high jump and Abby Titus finished at 5-1.0.Â
Devers led the squad in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.26 and a third place finish, Walz finished in fourth at 12.28 and Oliver finished in sixth at 12.40.Â
Laurie Murphy recorded a fifth place finish in the mile with a time of 5:00.26, Aberg finished ninth at 5:07.06, Featherstone finished at 5:12.86, Courtney Earl finished 5:18.30, Loryn Brimhall finished at 5:18.35 and Alyssa Kleinman finished with a time of 5:26.72.Â
Oliver recorded a sixth place finish in the long jump with a mark of 17-11.25 and Abby Titus finished at 15-0.0.
Gwilliam recorded a ninth place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.30 and Smith finished at 1:06.05.Â
Shannan Fonua finished in ninth place in the shot put with a mark of 42-7.0, Bailey Tovey finished in tenth at 42-3.0, Rachel Roberts finished at 41-3.75, Teisa Halaufia finished at 36-11.0.Â
Fonua recorded a ninth place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 157-2.5, Halafia finished at 129-11.0, Tovey recorded a mark of 120-3.75 and Daphne Scriven finished with a mark of 119-1.25
Roberts recorded a mark of 125-8.75 in the discus, Tovey finished at 124-3.0, Fonua recorded a mark of 121-2.75, Scriven finished at 115-10.25 and Halaufia finished at 107-8.25.Â
The Wildcats will be back at it April 4 & 5, splitting the weekend between the Stanford Invitational and the UNLV Rebel Elite.
