Wildcats Finish Summit League Championships in Ninth Place

MESA, Ariz. – The Weber State men's golf team wrapped up the Summit League Championships on Tuesday at Longbow Golf Club, finishing the tournament in ninth place with a three-round total of 886.
The Wildcats shot 292 in Tuesday's final round for the team's best single round of the tournament. WSU had previously shot rounds of 300 and 294.
Oral Roberts shot a 7-under par 277 on the final day to charge to the lead, taking the tournament championship with a three-round total of 12-under par 840. South Dakota State, which held the lead after each of the first two days, slipped to fourth place after an 8-over par final round. North Dakota State shot 3-under on the final day to finish second at 844, while South Dakota rallied to finish third with a scorching final round of 11-under par 273.
Weber State was led over the tournament by Matthew Wilson, who shot rounds of 75, 68 and 74 to finish in a tie for 22nd place at 4-over par 217.
Bobby Kincaid shot rounds of 75, 74 and 73 to finish in a tie for 36th place at 9-over par 222.
Ty Anderson shot a final round 73 to move up into 44th place. His final round came after rounds of 76 and 77 and he finished the tournament at 13-over par 226.
Cormack Goecke ended the tournament one shot back of Anderson at 14-over par 227 after shooting rounds of 74, 75 and 78.
Luke Smith shot the best round of the final day for the Wildcats with a 1-over par 72. He finished the tournament at 15-over par 228 and in a tie for 47th place.
Oral Roberts' Kevin An birdied No. 18 to land him in a three-way playoff with Denver's Willis Panzarello and South Dakota State's Tyler Seeling for the top individual spot. Those three all finished with 54-hole totals of 206 (-7). An would make a par on the first playoff hole, using five strokes on No. 18 to claim Championship MVP honors.
