Provo, Utah — The Weber State men's tennis team dropped their season opener to the BYU Cougars, falling 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.
"I am extremely pleased with our performance." Head Coach Brad Ferriera said, "With 3 freshmen in the lineup, I think we gave BYU a good scare."

In singles, Ken Dinh clinched the lone point for the Wildcats, beating his opponent 7-6 (5), 1-6, 6-4. It was the first victory on the season for Dinh, who was named to the All-Big Sky 2nd Team Singles during his sophomore campaign last season.
