Wildcats lose opener in UNLV Tournament

Las Vegas, NV — The Weber State men's tennis team dropped the weekend opener of the UNLV Tournament, falling to the New Mexico State Aggies 5-2.
"We came out super flat in doubles, which followed us into singles." Head Coach Brad Ferriera said, "New Mexico State never gave up and outplayed us today."
In doubles, the Wildcats fell 6-2 on courts #2 and #3. The duo of Ken Dinh and Samuel Battistone went unfinished on court #1.
In singles, Ken Dinh and Theo Mottier clinched the 2 team points for the Wildcats with wins in the #1 and #2 positions. Mottier took his match in straight sets, winning 6-3, 6-4. Dinh went the distance, completing the comeback after dropping the opening set, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (9-7). The 'Cats fell in straight sets in the following 4 singles matches.
The 'Cats will be back on the court tomorrow morning as they will take on the UC Riverside Highlanders at 10:00 a.m. The Highlanders enter the match with a 0-6 mark on the season.
