Women’s Tennis drops opener

Ogden, UT — The Weber State Wildcats women's tennis team dropped their season opener 4-3 to the Utah Tech Trailblazers.
In doubles, the Wildcats fell on both courts #1 and #2, by a score of 6-4. The 'Cats were forced to forfeit the match on Court #3
In singles, freshman Maggie Song and Naomi Johnson eached picked up their first career collegiate wins. Song took the victory in straight sets winning her match on Court #2, 6-3, 6-2. Johnson staved off a late comeback attempt to clinch her victory, and the second Wildcat team point, 6-4, 6-4.
The 'Cats are right back on the court tomorrow morning as they will travel to Salt Lake City, UT to take on the University of Utah. The Utes come into the match at 0-1 on the season after dropping their opener to UC Santa Barbara 4-3. The match will begin at 10:00 a.m. and live stats are available at weberstatesports.com
