Wildcats fall to Gonzaga

Spokane, WA — The Weber State men's tennis team fell to the Gonzaga Bulldogs 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
"We started with our backs against the wall against a good team." Head Coach Brad Ferriera said, "We were definitely in the 3 unfinished matches against a solid team. Can't be prouder of our fight and effort."
In doubles, the 'Cats fell in the #1 and #3 position, 6-3, 6-3, respectively. Gonzaga took a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
In singles, the Wildcats fell in three straight matches to give Gonzaga the win 4-0. Toit Malan was able to push his singles match to three sets before ultimately falling 6-7, 6-1, 3-6.
The Wildcats hit the court again tomorrow afternoon as they will take on the Cal Poly Mustangs in a neutral-site match in Spokane, Washington. The Mustangs come into Sunday with a 4-1 mark on the season.
