Mustangs top ‘Cats in Spokane

Spokane, WA — The Cal Poly Mustangs defeated the Weber State Wildcats by a 4-3 score in Spokane, Washington, on Sunday evening.
"Ken Dinh and Theo Mottier continue to play amazing tennis." Head Coach Brad Ferriera said, "Clement Lecoq played a great match today as well."
The Wildcats were swept in doubles play, falling on Courts #2 and #3. The duo of William Zulch/Samuel Battistone fell 6-1, while the combination of Toit Malan/Dawid Scholtz dropped their match 6-2.
In singles, Ken Dinh and Clement Lecoq defeated their opponents in straight sets. Dinh took the #1 match 6-3, 6-1, while Lecoq took the #5 match 6-4, 6-4. Theo Mottier clinched the third and final Wildcat point of the contest with a three-set victory in the #2 position. Mottier defeated his opponent, 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 10-5.
The Wildcats will return to Utah and take on the Utah State Aggies on Sunday, February 22nd. The Aggies will come into Sunday with a 4-4 mark on the season after dropping their two previous matches against UC Davis and Loyola Marymount, both by a 4-3 decision.
The match will begin at 11:00 a.m. in Logan, Utah, at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club.
