Wilson and Anderson Lead 'Cats in Spring Opener

SOMIS, Calif. – Matthew Wilson and Ty Anderson each recorded top-20 finishes to lead Weber State as the Wildcats opened up the 2026 spring season at the Bill Cullum Invitational at Saticoy Country Club.
As a team, the Wildcats shot rounds of 308, 305 and 317 for a total of 930 to finish in 11th place.
Wilson opened the tournament with a 2-under par 70 and added rounds of 75 and 77 for a 6-over par total of 222 and a tie for eighth place overall. Wilson posted 12 birdies over the event, including five in the final round.
Anderson tied for 16th place with rounds of 76, 73 and 77 for a 10-over par total of 226. He carded five of his eight birdies in his second round 73.
Luke Smith shot rounds of 81, 75 and 82 to tie for 56th place with a total of 238, while Bobby Kincaid shot 244 to tie for 70th and Ryan Takeshita shot 256 to finish in 76th place.
Cal State Fullerton took the team title with a 25-over par total of 889, finishing one shot clear of second place Cal Poly. Utah Tech's David Liechty and Cal Poly's Rafael Bobo-Lloret tied for medalist honors at even-par 216.
