Wilson Earns Fourth-Straight Golfer of the Week Award

FARMINGTON, Utah – Weber State's Matthew Wilson has again been named the Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week, earning the award for the fourth-straight outing, this time after leading the Wildcats at the UC San Diego Invitaitonal.
Wilson recorded rounds of 72 and 71 over the first two days of the tournament, and then made a big jump up the leaderboard with six birdies in a 5-under par round of 67 to finish the event at 6-under par 210 and alone in fifth place.
He has earned the award each of the last four times the Wildcats have competed, beginning with the fall-season ending Dolenc Invitational, where he was individual medalist. So far this spring, leading up to the UC San Diego Invitational, he took weekly honors after the Bill Cullum Invitational in February and the Colin Montgomerie Invitational in early March.
Wilson also took home a pair of Summit League Golfer of the Week honors in 2024-25, giving him a total of six league weekly honors for his career.
