Wildcats Rally Past Idaho in Four Sets

Weber State volleyball bounced back after dropping the opening set to earn a 3-1 victory over Idaho Saturday night at Memorial Gym.
The Wildcats improved to 8-4 overall and 1-1 in Big Sky Conference play with the win. Weber State took the final three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-23 and 25-19 after Idaho claimed the opening set 27-25.
Weber State finished the match hitting .286 as a team, recording 57 kills on 133 attacks. The Wildcats also posted five service aces.
Rose Moore led the Wildcats offensively with 17 kills while hitting .333. Ziya Munyer added 12 kills while hitting an impressive .600, and Stacia Barker finished with 10 kills on just 16 attacks for a .562Â hitting percentage. Barker also contributed five total blocks.
Maggie Larsen recorded nine kills, while Lexie Carlson added seven kills and two blocks. Morgan Pratt directed the Weber State offense with 45 assists and added 17 digs. Marly Pratt contributed 15 digs, while Katelynn Albano recorded eight digs and two service aces.
After a back-and-forth opening set, Weber State took control in the second, hitting .429 with 15 kills and just three errors. The Wildcats carried that momentum into the third set, overcoming an 18-14 deficit to close out the set 25-23.
Weber State then built an early advantage in the fourth set and never looked back, closing the match with a 25-19 victory. The Wildcats hit .314 in the final set while recording 16 kills.
The Wildcats return to action next week in Big Sky Conference play by hosting Portland State and Northern Arizona.Â
