The 2015 season was the first year for Cory Hall as an assistant coach at Weber State. Hall, a former NFL player, joined the Weber State staff in the spring of 2015 and coaches the secondary for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats led the Big Sky in total defense in 2015 and finished the season 6-5 overall and 5-3 in Big Sky play, WSU’s first winning season in five years.

Hall came to Weber State from Oregon State where he was a graduate assistant under Gary Anderson. He spent the 2014 season as a graduate assistant for Andersen at Wisconsin, then followed him to Oregon State.

Hall played six seasons in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons. He earned All-Pro rookie honors with the Bengals in 1999 and tied the single-season sacks record for a defensive back in 2002. He played in 87 career games in his six years in the NFL and started in 70 games. He recorded six career sacks and had three interceptions and three fumble recoveries. In 2004, he started 13 games and helped the Falcons to the NFC South title.

He brings head coaching experience to the Wildcats, having spent three years as the head coach at Clovis (California) North High School from 2011-13 after serving as the school’s director of football from 2008-11. Prior to that, he was a student assistant working on defense at Washington State in 2006.

Hall played strong safety, free safety and cornerback at Fresno State from 1995-98 before being drafted by the Bengals in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft.

The Bakersfield, Calif., native earned his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Fresno State in 2010. He is married to the former Sarah Hall and is the founder of the non-profit charity New Beginnings.
