    Assistant Coach / Offensive Line
Isaac Asiata is a new assistant coach at Weber State. He was hired by coach Kjar in January 2026 and coaches the Wildcat offensive line. 

Asiata, a former Utah and NFL player, comes to Weber State after spending the last season as an assistant offensive line coach with the University of Utah, helping the Utes to an 11-win season. Utah finished the season second in the nation in rushing at 266.3 yards per game, and the Utah offensive line was ninth in the country in sacks allowed.  

He is a former standout player at Utah and was an NFL Draft selection. 

Asiata was born in San Francisco and then moved to Utah, where he played high school football at Spanish Fork High School. He then had a standout career at Utah, where he was a four-year starter for the Utes from 2011-16. He was a two-time All-Pac-12 selection and won the Morris Trophy in 2016, given to the top lineman in the Pac-12. He also played in the Senior Bowl. 

He graduated from Utah in 2016 with a degree in Sociology. 

He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. He was a part of the Dolphins team for two seasons in 2017 and 2018 and one season with the Buffalo Bills. 

Following his NFL career, Asiata became a police officer in Provo and Herriman.  

He is the cousin of former Utah player and NFL running back Matt Asiata. 

He and his wife Angel have three children.Â
