Weber State University softball coach Mary Kay Amicone is pleased to announce the hiring of Matison (Mattie) Snow as the Wildcats’ pitching coach.
“Mattie had a great career at Dixie State and tremendous experience at the University of Utah,” Amicone said. “She is hardworking and with her experience with the mental game she will bring an outstanding skill set to our program.”
Snow comes to Weber State after spending the last three seasons at the University of Utah as a graduate assistant. During Snow’s time at Utah, the Utes made three NCAA Regional appearances and advanced the NCAA Super Regionals twice. Utah finished 37-16 this past spring, earning a national seed and hosting a Regional in Salt Lake City, and coming within one run of the Women’s College World Series.
Prior to her stint with the Utes, Snow was a four-year standout pitcher for Dixie State from 2011-2014, helping lead the Trailblazers to four NCAA Division II Regional appearances, three PacWest co-championships, an NCAA West Super Regional championship, and a third-place finish at the Division II Women’s College World Series.
“I'm really excited to have the opportunity to be a part of Weber State softball,” Snow said. “We have a competitive and knowledgeable staff, and it's going to be great year.”
Originally from Tooele, Utah, Snow graduated from the University of Utah with a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology in 2017. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Dixie State in 2014.
