'Cats Open Road Swing 0-2

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Weber State fell 6-1 to both Gonzaga and Eastern Washington, dropping the first two of a three-match road swing to Washington this weekend.
The Wildcats opened on Friday with a match against Gonzaga. Keya Adamson earned the lone point for the 'Cats with a 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (2) win over Danielle Farmer at the No. 5 singles position.
On Saturday, the Wildcats faced their fourth Big Sky opponent of the season and fell to 0-3 in the conference as Eastern Washington claimed the 6-1 win. This time the 'Cats were swept in singles play, but managed to grab the doubles point as Adamson and Gabriela Venditto defeated Marie Demerath and Sarah Leuenberger 8-6, while Elsje Beneke and Kelli Lindley defeated Rachel Berger and Kerstyn Dolack 8-5.
The 'Cats drop to 3-11 overall on the season. They will have one more contest on the current road trip as they are scheduled to face Idaho on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in Spokane.
