Former Weber State All-American Lindsey Anderson finished 24th Friday in the preliminaries of the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The Morgan, Utah native posted a time of 9:36.81 in the trials and failed to advance to Sunday's finals of the event.

Anderson was the third American finisher in Friday's trails, with the other two, Anna Willard and Jenny Barringer both advancing to the finals.
There were 51 competitiors in the event, the first time the women's steeplechase has been contested at the Olympics. The top 16 advanced to the finals, which will be held Sunday morning Utah time.
Gulnara Galkina-Samitova of Russia won the trial on Friday with a time of 9:15.17.
Lindsey Anderson concluded her four-year Weber State career in 2007, after earning All-American honors twice, holding four Weber State school records, and winning nine Big Sky Conference titles.
