Ducks Defeat WSU on Penalty Kick Goal

EUGENE, Ore. -- The Weber State women's soccer team produced a solid effort against its foruth Pac-10 opponent of the season on Sunday. Unfortunately, the 'Cats came out on the losing end as Oregon used a penalty kick goal to claim a 1-0 win.
ln the 48th minute, WSU's Shannon Thompson committed a foul on Oregon's Jen Stoltenberg inside the box. Thompson earned a yellow card for the foul and the Ducks earned a penalty kick attempt. Kirtsen Kuhns converted on the attempt to give Oregon all the offense they would need on the day.
Rebecca Ritchie recorded eight saves on the night for the Wildcats, who fall to 3-6-1 on the year and to 1-3 against the Pac-10. Oregon improved to 6-2-1 on the season.
