'Cats Sweep Bears for Fourth-Straight Win

GREELEY, Colo. -- The Weber State men's tennis team won its fourth-straight match to improve to 4-4 on the season Saturday afternoon with a 7-0 sweep of Northern Colorado. The win also improves the 'Cats to 2-0 in Big Sky Conference play.
The Wildcats swept all three doubles matches, winning 8-3 at No. 1 and 8-2 at both the No. 2 and 3 spots.
In singles, Weber State took all six matches in straight-sets. Sascha Kiehne downed Adam Perez 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1, while Simon Unger won a first-set tiebreaker on his way to a 7-6 (4), 6-0 win over Calix VanLier at No. 2.
Henning Hipp, playing in his first match of the season after missing the first seven contests with a back injury, defeated Jordan Boecker 6-3, 6-3.
Spencer Marchant also won a first-set tiebreak to vault himself to a 7-6 (9), 6-0 win over Andy Green at No. 4. Chris Williams defeated Clay Mundell 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5, while Travis Covington cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Andre Lepine at No. 6.
