'Cats Suffer Tight Loss to Idaho

BOISE, Idaho -- The Weber State men's tennis team dropped its second-straight match on Sunday with a 4-3 loss to the University of Idaho at Boise State University's Boas Tennis Center.
The Vandals took the doubles point behind victories in the No. 2 and 3 matches. Weber State's team of Sascha Kiehne and Simon Unger pulled out a 9-8 win at No. 1 over Artem Kuznetsov and Stanislav Glukhov.
The Wildcats rallied in singles, but fell one point short as the two teams split the six matches. Unger defeated Glukhov 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2 and Henning Hipp downed Alexandru Joitoiu 6-0, 7-5 at No. 3. Travis Covington got the Wildcats a crucial point at No. 6 with a three-sets win over Hugh McDonald 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, but the Wildcats could not earn the one extra point that they needed.
The Wildcats will take back to the courts on Sunday, Mar. 8 when they will face UC Riverside at 10:00 a.m. at the Ogden Athletic Club.
