El Paso, Texas -- The Weber State University soccer team lost an early lead on Sunday as UTEP rallied for a 2-1 win in the final match of the Border Shootout tournament at University field.

The loss to the Miners (5-2) handed the Wildcats their first loss of the 2009 season, ending a four-match winning streak as the team fell to 4-1.

Roxanne Tebbs put WSU ahead early, finishing a sliding shot off a Jessie Baddley cross in the 12th minute for her second goal of the season.

The Miners, who posted an impressive 28 shots on the day, found the equalizer in the 16th minute when Tess Hall's corner kick found the net.  The goal ended a couple other streaks for the Wildcats, as the team's three-match shutout streak and a consecutive scoreless streak of 370 minutes came to a halt.

Rebecca Ritchie posted a career-high 14 saves in the match. Meanwhile, UTEP goalkeeper Chandra Morden only needed to make a single save to earn the win for the Miners, as the Wildcats struggled to find offense. WSU recorded only seven shots on the day and only put a pair of those on-goal.

The Wildcats will return to Texas next weekend, this time heading to Lubbock, Texas to participate in a tournament hosted by Texas Tech. During the tournament, WSU will face Texas Christian and the host Red Raiders.
