OGDEN, Utah -- Jessie Baddley's two goals were not enough as Weber State wrapped up the 2010 non-conference schedule with a 3-2 loss to 25th-ranked Oregon State on Friday afternoon at Wildcat Soccer Field.

Baddley put the Wildcats on the board early as she took a pass from Sarah Mager and made a swift move high in the box to create a one-on-one shot at the Oregon State net. The junior midfielder beat OSU goalkeeper Colleen Boyd with a shot to the right post for her first goal of the season.

The Beavers pounded the Wildcat goal with shots throughout the first half and finally broke through to knot the game at one goal apiece in the 24th minute, as Milan Cabrera scored her first of two goals on the day. Cabrera got on the end of a corner kick from Justyne Freud, and bounced a header off the ground at the top of the 6-yard box and over the head of Ryann Waldman.

The Beavers outshot the Wildcats 14-3 for the period, but the WSU defense held firm for the remainder of the opening 45 minutes.

In the 58th minute, Megan Miller played a ball into the box for Oregon State. Jenna Richardson took the ball, turned to her left and was in on Waldman one-on-one. Her shot to the right post gave the lead to the visitors, forcing WSU to chase the game.

Just under six minutes later, Baddley equalized for the Wildcats. The junior midfielder fired a header off a free kick played by Ari Wood past Boyd to the far post from 11 yards out on the left side.

The Beavers reclaimed the lead in the 79th minute as Cabrera tallied again on another corner kick from Freud. This time Cabrera took the ball toward the far post, and one-timed a shot for the game-winner.

Oregon State took advantage of a 7-0 edge in corner kicks, scoring twice off of the set piece. The Beavers improved to 7-1-1 overall on the season with the win.

The Wildcats (1-11-0) will now look forward to the Big Sky Conference portion of the schedule. Weber State will kick off league play next week as Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona come to Ogden. WSU will face the Bears on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 3:00 p.m. and the preseason conference favorite-Lumberjacks on Saturday, Oct. 9 at Noon.
