Salt Lake City, UT - The Utah Utes had four players in double figures and 40 made free throws to defeat the Weber State men's basketball team 90-75 Saturday afternoon at the Huntsman Center. 

Weber State shot just 36 percent from the field, compared to 54 percent shooting for the Utes.  The 'Cats were 22-60 from the field on the night.  Weber State took 18 more shots than Utah but the Utes were 40-45 from the free throw line.  Utah had more free throw attempts than field goal attempts.  The Wildcats also shot well from the line, finishing 26-30.

The 'Cats committed 32 fouls on the night.  The Utes were whistled for 23 fouls, totaling 55 fouls called in the game.   All nine of WSU's players had at least two fouls and five players had four or more, with three fouling out.  

Weber State never led in the game and the Utes jumped out to an early 17-6 lead.  The 'Cats cut the lead to three at 35-32 with 2:54 to play in the first half.  From that point Utah went on a 19-6 run and took a 56-38 lead with 15:06 to go in the game.  The Wildcats would not get any closer than 12 points the rest of the way.

Junior Damian Lillard led the way with a game-high 28 points, with 22 of them coming in the second half.  Lillard was 9-18 from the field and 8-9 from the free throw line.  After a 2-9 start from the field, he knocked down seven of his final nine shot attempts.

Lindsey Hughey added 12 points for the Wildcats and red-shirt freshman Byron Fulton posted a career-high 11 points, with ten of those points coming in the first half.  The 'Cats had 29 points off the bench.    

Will Clyburn led Utah with 27 points, including 14-15 shooting from the foul line.    

Weber State drops to 1-2 on the season.  The 'Cats now head to Alaska and will compete in the Great Alaska Shootout.  WSU will play three games at the tournament beginning with a matchup with Alaska-Anchorage Thursday night at 9:30 p.m. Mountain time.
