OGDEN, Utah -- It was a career day across the board for the Wildcats.

Fueled by a career high 22-point effort from sophomore guard Megan Patterson, the Weber State University women's basketball team won its second consecutive game on Wednesday evening, dismantling the University of Montana-Western 90-64 at the Dee Events Center.

Patterson, a 5-foot-11 sophomore from Columbus, Mont., was 4-of-8 from 3-point range in reaching a career-high point total for the second consecutive game. Senior forward Caitlin Anderson tallied 13 points and a career-high six assists, while sophomore guard Mariah Metoyer had a career-high 10 points, shooting a perfect 4-of-4 from the field, along with pulling down four rebounds.

Juniors Abby Palmer and Mikell Woodfield each tallied a season-high nine points of the bench for the Wildcats, who improved to 3-3 overall.

Junior point guard Caela Mohre had a season-high six assists and a career-high six steals, along with five points, while freshman point guard Justine Johnson added a career-high six assists and five points.

Junior center Karlee Weight also had a solid day, finishing with a season-high nine rebounds, seven points and a pair of blocked shots.

Weber State as a team shot a season-high 48.4 percent from the field, hitting 30-of-62 attempts en route to their highest point total since a 98-57 victory over the University of Idaho on Nov. 25, 2006.

Defensively, Weber State held Montana-Western (3-5) to 37.7 shooting from the field and forced the Bulldogs into 22 turnovers, which the Wildcats converted into 29 points.
Weber State burst out the gate early on, hitting three consecutive 3-pointers to take a 9-0 lead and the Wildcats quickly rolled out to an 18-2 lead.

Montana-Western countered with a run of its own to get it back to 24-18, but a 19-7 Wildcats' run finished out the first half and sent Weber State into the locker room with a 43-25 lead.

WSU started the second half by scoring the first six points to push their lead to 24 and UMW never got closer than 18 down the stretch.

Weber State will return to action on Saturday at 3 p.m. when the Wildcats travel to Provo, Utah, to face in-state rival Brigham Young University. The Cougars are 5-3 overall, winning five of their past six games, and will face Utah Valley on Thursday before taking on the Wildcats in the Marriott Center.
