Wildcats Fall to Utah 5-2

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Weber State men's tennis team fell to 3-6 on the season with a 5-2 loss to the University of Utah (4-3) on Friday night at the Eccles Tennis Center.
The Wildcats got an 8-4 win by Henning Hipp and Dave Hintze at No. 3 doubles, as the pair downed Artem Strunnikov and Timmy Allin. The Utes won handily at No. 2 and pulled off a 9-8 (10-5) tiebreak win at No.1 for the doubles point.
In singles, Hipp and Sascha Kiehne each earned points for the Wildcats. Hipp cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Jason Smits at No. 2 singles, while Kiehne came from a set down for a 1-6, 6-4, 10-5 win over Alex Golding.
