EL PASO, Texas -- The Weber State softball team dropped its tenth-straight game to open the season on Sunday with a 12-1 loss to San Jose State at the UTEP Invitational.
The Wildcats scored early, taking the lead in the first inning as Ariel Whiteman drove home Britinie Hardine on a double to right center. From there WSU would garner only two more hits.
The Spartans matched the Wildcats with one run in the first, and then put the game out of reach with four runs in the second and seven runs in the third.
Weber State will be back in action next weekend, as they travel to Las Vegas to participate in the UNLV-hosted Eller Media Stadium Classic.
