Wildcat softball adds two assistant coaches

Hannah Ortega has been named the Pitching Coach, and former Wildcat Tori Rey has been named a Graduate Assistant Coach.
Weber State softball head coach Kristin Delahoussaye has announced two new additions to the Wildcat coaching staff.Â
Coach House has named Hannah Ortega as a Pictching Coach and former Wildcat player Tori Rey as a Graduate Assistant Coach.Â
Ortega just completed her college career at Utah Valley, where she spent the 2026 season. She had 23 appearances for the Wolverines with two starts and pitched 31.2 innings. She also recorded three wins on the season.Â
Prior to playing at Utah Valley, Ortega spent three seasons at Fresno State. In two seasons of action, she pitched 60.2 innings and had 36 strikeouts.Â
She began her collegiate career at Bethune-Cookman in 2002 and earned first-team All-SWAC honors. She was also named the SWAC Freshman and Pitcher of the Year after posting a 2.98 ERA with 117 strikeouts.Â
Ortega is a native of Linden, California, and played at Linden High School.Â
"We are excited to have Hannah on staff as our new pitching coach," Delahoussaye said. "She's ready to build our pitchers into the best version of themselves on and off the field. Her knowledge of the game and desire to grow players will help us continue to cultivate our pitching staff within a championship culture."Â
Rey just completed her four-year career at Weber State in 2026.Â
A native of Salinas, California, Rey was part of the Wildcat team from 2023-26, and appeared in 171 career games at Weber State. She totaled 73 career hits and scored 46 runs in her career.Â
Rey was part of the 2025 Wildcat team that won the Big Sky Tournament and won a game in the NCAA Regionals.Â
"We are excited to have Tori back this year in a new role," Delahoussaye added. "She was a great leader and teammate, and I'm excited to see her in her new role as a coach."
