POCATELLO, Idaho - Weber State's season came to an end this Tuesday afternoon as they fell 12-3 in five innings to the No. two-seeded Northern Colorado Bears.Â
Abby Grundy and Sadie Kirk delivered consecutive home runs, giving Weber State a quick 2-0 advantage early on.
However, Northern Colorado responded immediately, crossing the plate four times in the home half of the first inning to seize a 4-2 lead.
The Bears continued their offensive surge in the bottom of the second, adding another four runs to extend their lead to 8-2.
Not finished yet, the Bears Harrington hit a grand slam and increased the lead to 12-3 in the bottom of the fourth.Â
Attempting a late-game rally, Sammy Gallegos hit a single to center field. Jordan Hart then reached on a fielder's choice, though Gallegos was forced out on the play.Â
Despite these efforts, the Wildcats could not generate the additional offense needed to overcome the deficit, and the game went to the Bears, ending the Wildcats' time at the Big Sky Tournament.Â
