Big Sky Tournament
The 2026 Big Sky Softball Championship will be held May 4-7 at Idaho State's Softball Field in Pocatello, Idaho. All six Big Sky softball teams will advance to the double-elimination tournament. The tournament champion will earn the Big Sky's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Wildcats closed out the regular season with a win over the Utah State Aggies, 11-7 in Logan. Weber State will head to the Big Sky Tournament with a record of 14-40, 4-11.

Know the Foe
Weber State and Montana have met 39 times overall with the Wildcats holding a 26-10 series advantage. This season, the Lady Griz swept the 'Cats 3-0 in a weekend series in Ogden. Montana sits 19-30, 9-6 on the season and is ranked the No. four seed in the tournament. The last time Montana was ranked the No. four seed or higher was in 2021. The Lady Griz are led by Grace Lopez who posts a .363 batting average and 53 hits. Carah Sweet leads the team in pitching, posting seven wins and a 4.08 ERA.

Last Season
The Wildcats secured their fifth Big Sky Championship (first since 2022) and made their fifth appearance to the NCAA Tournament. While in Eugene, Oregon, the 'Cats won their second-ever NCAA Regional win against Binghamton 7-4.

Riley Whalen led the Wildcats last season with a .356 batting average, recording 67 hits in 188 at-bats. She scored 36 runs and added eight doubles, three triples, three home runs and 25 RBI, earning All-Big Sky First Team honors.

Abby Grundy finished the season with a .353 batting average, totaling 49 hits and 27 runs. Grundy led both the team and the Big Sky Conference with 18 doubles and was also named to the All-Big Sky First Team.

Freshman Sadie Kirk made an immediate impact in her first season with Weber State. Kirk earned Co-Freshman of the Year and All-Big Sky First Team honors while batting .352 (56-for-159). From behind the plate, she recorded 36 runs, 12 doubles, three triples, seven home runs and 40 RBI, while maintaining a .959 fielding percentage.

Fresh Faces
Five players make up the Wildcats 2026 freshman class. Pitchers Kendall Freidinger (Tucson, Arizona) and Jade Curiel (Chino, California) join the program, along with first baseman McKenzie Quintero (Herriman, Utah), outfielder Attiana Thompson (Menifee, California) and utility player Paige Witte (Vacaville, California).
