OGDEN, Utah -- Creighton scored a 22nd minute goal and the Wildcats played shorthanded for the final 59 minutes as Weber State fell to 0-6 on the season with the 1-0 loss.
The Bluejays narrowly missed in the 8th minute, as Beth Fyles struck the crossbar. But the ball rebounded straight down and stayed out to keep the game scoreless in the early going.
Just over 13 minutes later, Andrea Zuniga intercepted a Wildcat clearance and fired a ball from outside the right corner of the box. The shot from 25 yards sailed over WSU keeper Alyson Hansen to the far post for the eventual game winner.
In the 31st minute, the Jays threatened again breaking behind center back Lindsay Ortgiesen to goal. Ortgiesen took down the Creighton attacker in an attempt to regain position and was sent off with a red card for the last defender foul from behind.
The Wildcats chased the equalizer for the remainder of the game, but were unable to break through as Creighton improved to 4-2-2 on the season.
Hansen recorded six saves in goal for the Wildcats, while Alicia Montgomery stopped all four WSU shots on frame to earn the clean sheet for Creighton.
Weber State will return to action on Tuesday, Sep. 14 as they host Idaho on Youth Soccer Month Day.
