SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- The Weber State women's soccer team's struggles continued on Friday as they opened up a four-game road swing. The Wildcats were shutout 2-0 by UC Santa Barbara, dropping the team to 0-8-0 on the year.

The Gauchos did not have to wait long for the game-winner as Kailyn Kugler headed home a Kylie McDonald cross just 35 seconds into the contest for her second tally of the season.

Kugler would repay McDonald in the 62nd minute, finding her teammate on a cross that McDonald one-timed home. The goal was the first of the season for McDonald.

UC Santa Barbara dominated the ball, outshooting the Wildcats 20 to 4 on the day. Ryann Waldman recorded seven saves in goal for WSU, while Makenna Henry only needed to make two stops to record the clean sheet for the Gauchos.

The Wildcats will face Cal Poly on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. MST before heading home. Next week, the team's road swing continues with matches against Air Force and UNLV in Colorado Springs, Colo.
