'Cats Fall to BYU in Season-Opener

PROVO, Utah -- The Weber State men's tennis team opened up the 2011 season on Friday, falling 7-0 to Brigham Young University.
The Wildcats dropped all three doubles matches, with newcomers Oliver Good and Ciao Poitena putting up the biggest fight in an 8-4 loss at the No. 3 spot.
In singles, the Cougars took the No. 2 through 6 matches each in straight sets. Simon Unger battled to a third set in the No. 1 match against Evan Urbina. Unger narrowly lost the opening set 7-6 (7) in a tiebreak, but responded to dominate the second set 6-1 to stay alive. Urbina pulled out a 6-4 win in the third to finish off the sweep.
