OGDEN, Utah -- Fourteen proved to be the Wildcats' lucky number.

Fueled by a trio of players with 14 points each, the Weber State University women's basketball team slammed the brakes on an eight-game skid and toppled arch-rival Idaho State 66-61 in overtime in Big Sky Conference women's basketball action on Thursday night at the Dee Events Center.

"There is always something to play for," Weber State coach Carla Taylor said. "When you set foot on the court you are playing for your school, for your teammates; We played hard tonight and we played with a lot of pride on our home court.

"I'm just proud of the effort level we

had tonight," Taylor said. "We got late into the second half and we were down three, which is where we've been a lot of times, and we just kept battling. It was refreshing to finally get over that hump."

Senior forward Caitlin Anderson scored 14 points and added a team-high 10 rebounds, moving her into 10th place in Weber State's career rebounding charts. It was her 19th career double-double.

Sophomore forward Amanda Hughes added 14 points and nine rebounds, while sophomore guard Megan Patterson also had 14 points.

Weber State held Idaho State to just 21-of-71 shooting (29.6) percent and outrebounded the Bengals 47-45.
The Wildcats stormed out to an 11-point lead midway through the first half, taking a 22-11 advantage on Patterson's 3-pointer with 9:37 to go before halftime.

Idaho State rallied to take a 28-26 lead, but Weber State quickly countered and took a 32-30 lead into the half.
Patterson scored 12 of her points in the opening 20 minutes, including a pair of 3-pointers.

Weber State led 40-34 with 14:38 left, and the teams battled fiercely down the stretch, trading the lead several times.

The Wildcats led 56-53 on a pair of free throws by Anderson with 55 seconds to play, but the Bengals forced overtime on a 3-pointer with 11 seconds to go.

In the extra five minute session, Weber State quickly scored the first four points and never trailed as Anderson scored six of the Wildcats' 10 points in overtime.

Weber State (6-19, 2-11 Big Sky) will wrap up its home schedule on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Sacramento State (3-23, 0-13). It will be the final home game for Anderson, the team's lone senior.
