OGDEN - Weber State won its third straight game with a 65-51 victory over UC Irvine Saturday night at the Dee Events Center.  WSU improved to 4-2 on the season and won its 20th straight home game.

UC Irvine jumped out to an early 7-6 lead but Weber State responded with a 25-9 run over the next 15 minutes of the half and took a 15-point lead.  The Anteaters closed the first half on a 6-0 run and WSU led 33-26 at the break.

"That was a grind of a game and we knew going in it was going to be," said WSU head coach Randy Rahe.  "It was a defensive game and I thought UC Irvine did a good job of taking away some of our strengths.  We had to fight and get tough and just find a way to win and we were able to do that."

The Wildcats shot 41 percent from the field and held the Anteaters to 34 percent shooting.  WSU also outrebounded UC Irvine 40-38.  Weber State was just 2-12 from three-point land and shot just 21-35 from the free throw line.  However, the Wildcats did make their last 10 free throws.

For the third straight game Weber State was led by junior Kyle Tresnak who finished with 16 points and six rebounds.  Tresnak was 5-10 from the field and 6-6 from the free throw line, playing in just 19 minutes to due foul trouble.  The Scottsdale, Ariz., native scored 20 points in Wednesday's victory over Utah Valley.

Frank Otis finished with 13 points on 6-9 shooting and also pulled down six rebounds. Scott Bamforth finished with 11 points, Davion Berry had nine and Jordan Richardson finished with eight.  Freshman Joel Bolomboy tied his career-high with 11 rebounds, to go along with three blocked shots.

The win 20th straight home victory for Weber State is the fourth longest streak in the nation.  The Wildcats will be home next Saturday night to take on BYU who comes in with a 6-3 record.  Following that game the Wildcats will open Big Sky Conference play Dec. 20 at Eastern Washington.
