Wildcats Swept in Home Opener

OGDEN, Utah -- The Weber State women's tennis team opened up its 2012 home schedule on Sunday, but fell to 0-7 on the season with a 7-0 loss to the University of Nevada (1-2) at the Ogden Athletic Club.
The Wildcats were swept in doubles play, and then suffered the same fate in singles play, despite putting up a fight in half of the six contests.
Brittiny Moore fell 6-3, 6-3 to Michelle Okhremchuk at No. 1, and Nittaya Phonharath dropped a 6-3, 6-4 decision to Rymma Maslova at No. 5. Thais Kurer put up the biggest fight for the Wildcats, nearly extending the match to a third set, as she fell 6-2, 7-6 to Faith Bassiouny in the No. 6 match.
The Wildcats will be back on the road for their next match, as they travel to Pocatello, Idaho to face Idaho State on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
