NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. -- The Weber State men's golf team struggled through tough conditions in the final round of the America Sky Golf Conference Championships on Tuesday, but managed to hang on to seventh place as scores went up throughout the field.

The Wildcats shot a 326 on the day, their highest round of the tournament by seven shots, producing a tournament total of 953.

Tournament champion Sacramento State's 302 was 12 strokes higher than their previous high, but the Hornets were never threatened on the day, thanks to a pair of stellar rounds on Sunday and Monday which built a very comfortable lead. Sac State wrapped up the event at 878, which was 42 strokes ahead of second-place Houston Baptist. Hartford finished third at 927.

Sac State's Cameron Rappleye shot an even par 72 in the final round, wrapping up the individual medalist title with a two-under-par total of 214, edging teammate Jordan Weir by two shots. Mason Casper of Utah Valley moved up to finish third at 221 after Sac State's Ryan Williams faded from a tie for second to eighth with a final-round 84. Northern Colorado's Steven Kupcho was the lone player in the field to break par, shooting a one-under 71 to jump from 20th place into a tie for sixth.

Jordan Herzog led the Wildcat for the third-straight day, shooting a 79 to wrap up the tournament in ninth place at 229. After a tough opening nine, which saw the sophomore shoot 41, Herzog turned things around on the back, matching one bogey with a single birdie to go even par for the first eight holes of the inward side, before finishing with a double bogey.

Herzog's ninth place finish earned him All-America Sky Tournament Second Team honors.

Matt Wahlen and Alex Sutton each came in at 80 on the day, with Wahlen concluding the tournament at 238, and in a tie for 20th. Sutton shot 248 overall, tying for 44th.

Jeff Jones fell into a tie for 44th overall at 246 after an 87 in the final round, while Michael Johnson shot a final round 88 to finish in a tie for 46th at 249.
