Wildcats Open Season with Fourth Place Ram Masters Finish

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Weber State men's golf team opened up the 2025 fall season this week at the Ram Masters Invitational, hosted by Colorado State at the Fort Collins Country Club and came away with a fourth place finish after posting a 14-over par total of 854 for the 54-hole event.
The 'Cats shot rounds of 282 and 285 on Thursday before closing with a 287 in Friday's final round.
Long Beach State won the team title, shooting even-par 840 to edge the tournament-host Rams by two shots. Utah Tech finished in third place at 848.
Matthew Wilson led Weber State, finishing in a tie for fourth overall with a 3-under par total of 207. Wilson shot rounds of 68, 69 and 70 on the 7,234-yard, par-70 layout. He carded 11 birdies over the tournament, including two in a bogey-free opening round and five in his second-round 69.
Bobby Kincaid shot rounds of 70, 72, and 71, while freshman Ryan Takeshita shot 68-74-71 as the pair posted 3-over par totals of 213 to tie for 14th, giving the Wildcats a trio of players inside the top-20. Kincaid recorded 10 birdies over the event, while Takeshita matched Wilson with 11 birdies.
Ty Anderson tied for 57th place at 13-over par 223, which was highlighted by an even-par 70 in the second round, and Markus Nanpei tied for 83rd place with a total of 232. Anderson posted nine birdies over the tournament, while Nanpei carded four birdies and an eagle.
UC San Diego's Davis McDowell took home individual medalist honors with a 6-under par total of 204, edging Colorado State's Alessandro Trenta by a single shot.
