'Cats Move Up For 10th Place Finish at Falcon Invitational

USAFA, Colo. – The Weber State men's golf team shot a 2-under par 286 in the final round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational on Monday to move up into a 10th place finish at the Eisenhower Golf Club.
The Wildcats shot rounds of 289 and 292 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively and posted a tournament total of 3-over par 867 over the 54-hole event.
Ty Anderson used a blistering final round 67 to vault into a team-best tie for 18th place. He opened the tournament with rounds of 75 and 72, and recorded a 2-under par total of 214. Anderson carded 13 birdies for the tournament, including seven in his final round 67.
Luke Smith led the 'Cats over the first two days with rounds of 69 and 72, and finished the tournament with a 75 for an even-par total of 216 to tie for 28th place. Smith posted eight birdies and an eagle over his 54 holes.
Matthew Wilson joined Anderson in red figures on Monday with a 3-under par 69 to move up into a tie for 35th place after opening the tournament with rounds of 73 and 75, finishing at 1-over par 217. Wilson carded five birdies in his final round 69 and 10 overall for the tournament.
Bobby Kincaid finished in a tie for 63rd place at 4-over par 220 after shooting rounds of 72, 73 and 75, while Ryan Takeshita shot 76-75-75 for a 10-over par 226 to tie for 92nd.
Idaho won the team title, leading the 23-team field with a 23-under par score of 841. Gonzaga finished second at 851, while UC San Diego shot 842 to finish third. Northern Colorado's Kaelen Durant shot a 14-under par score of 202 to take the individual medalist honors, finishing three shots ahead of Nevada's Oak Seelanagae.
