Wildcats Finish 8th in Spring Opener

ST. GEORGE, Utah -- The Weber State men's golf team opened up the 2014 spring season this week, finishing eighth at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Course.
The Wildcats shot an opening round 302 on Monday and closed with a 300 on Tuesday for a tournament total of 602.
Freshman Alex Herzog led the Wildcats over the course of the tournament, shooting rounds of 77 and 73 for a six-over-par total of 150.
Seattle University earned the team title with a total of 573, for a nine-shot lead over second-place Dixie State. Boise State finished third at 583.
Utah Valley's J.T. Timmons shot back-to-back 67's to claim individual medalist honors with a 10-under-par 134. Dixie State's Hayden Christensen finished second at 138.
Luke Crapo finished in a tie for 37th with a total of 152, while Michael Johnson and Ryan Sarlo each shot 153 to tie for 41st. Colton Dallimore shot 155, finishing in a tie for 49th.
