MARICOPA, Ariz. – The Weber State men's golf team wrapped up the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Wednesday afternoon at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, finishing in a tie for 21st place with a three-round total of 886.
The Wildcats shot rounds of 296 and 299 before a bit of a rally over the final 18 holes with a finishing score of 291 to jump four spots on the 25-team leaderboard.
Bobby Kincaid led the Wildcats with a 6-over par score of 222 to finish in a tie for 77th place. He opened the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 76 before carding three birdies and an eagle in a 2-under par 70 in the final round.
Jesus Castaneda tied for 84th on rounds of 76, 72 and 76 for an 8-over par 224, while Ty Anderson shot rounds of 73, 74 and 78 for a 9-over par 225 to tie for 92nd.
Matthew Wilson shot rounds of 71, 81 and 73 for a 10-over par 226 to tie for 99th place, and Markus Nanpei shot 11-over par 227 to tie for 102nd place. Nanpei joined Kincaid in red figures over the final round with six birdies in a 1-under par 71.
28th-ranked Southern California took the team title, shooting a 26-under par total of 838 for a one-shot victory over second place Arkansas State, which was led by individual medalist Thomas Schmidt.
