Weber State's struggles on the road continued as the 'Cats fell 68-57 at Montana Thursday night in Missoula. The loss is the second-straight for Weber State who falls to 11-4 in Big Sky play and has a one-game lead over Northern Colorado with five games remaining.

Montana held a 33-32 lead at halftime, despite the Wildcats shooting 54 percent from the field in the first half. Weber State trailed by four at 57-53 with 6:18 to play but Montana closed the game on an 11-4 run. It was Weber State's seventh straight loss to the Grizzlies in Missoula. The win moves Montana to 8-7 in Big Sky play, currently tied for third in the league standings.

Weber State shot 52 percent from the field, but allowed the Grizzlies to shoot 57 percent from the field, the best by any opponent against the 'Cats this season. WSU outrebounded the Grizzlies 23-21 and had nine turnovers, compared to just three for Montana, the fewest the 'Cats have allowed this season.

The 57 points was the second fewest scored by the Wildcats this season.

“We ran into a veteran team that was really excited to play us,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “We were ready to play and competed hard tonight but I think our confidence is a little bit down right now. The road can do that to you and it has to a lot of teams in our league. It came down to us not being able to get the stops we needed and we'll have to get our defense back going.”

Kyle Tresnak led the Wildcats with 23 points, just one off his career-high. He was 9 of 11 and a perfect 5 of 5 from the free throw line.

Davion Berry added 12 points and four assists and Jeremy Senglin added 10 points. Joel Bolomboy had two points and 11 rebounds and became the 28th player in WSU to reach 500 career rebounds.

Kareem Jamar, the reigning Big Sky MVP, led the Grizzlies with 25 points.

Weber State now sits at 11-4 in conference play, one game ahead of Northern Colorado who won at Northern Arizona Thursday night. WSU concludes its four-game road trip at Montana State Saturday. The Wildcats are 3-8 on the road this season.
