OGDEN – Four players scored in double figures as Weber State remained in first place in the Big Sky win an 84-72 win over North Dakota Thursday night at the Dee Events Center.

WSU improves to 9-2 in Big Sky play and remains in first place, now with a two-game lead after Northern Colorado lost at Idaho State Thursday night. The Wildcats and Bears will meet Saturday night in Ogden.

North Dakota jumped out to an early 17-10 lead but the Wildcats responded with a 19-2 run over the next six minutes and never looked back. Weber State led 38-32 at halftime and never trailed in the second half.

“I was real proud of our guys and how we fought through tonight and found a way to win,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “We had a hangover from Saturday's game but we made a push at the end of the first half and picked up our energy. It was a great team effort and a lot of guys really stepped up.”

WSU sophomore Joel Bolomboy had his sixth double-double and scored a career-high with 20 points. He was 6-10 from the field and was a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line. He also pulled down 10 rebounds and has now reached double figures in rebounding in 11 of the last 12 games.

Davion Berry led the way with 21 points and has reached 20 or more points in seven straight games. Berry was 4-12 from the field and 12-13 from the free throw line. He also pulled down six rebounds and had five assists.

Kyle Tresnak added 16 points on 7-12 shooting, to go along with four rebounds and three blocks and Jeremy Senglin had 13 points and four assists.

WSU shot 48 percent from the field, compared to 45 percent for North Dakota but UND outrebounded the Wildcats 35-34. Weber State shot 88 percent from the free throw line, compared to 57 percent for North Dakota.

The Wildcats have now won 25 straight Big Sky regular season home games, just one off the Big Sky record.

WSU returns home Saturday night to host the second-place Northern Colorado Bears at 7 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.
